  SARA Animal Shelter is a refuge for lost, abandoned or mistreated animals on Lanzarote. We thought that this site would be an ideal place for us to give out the day to day news from the shelter and keep our supporters informed of any developements they may be interested in. Many people on Lanzarote still do not know of our exsistence nor do they know about the work that we do. SARA is a registered charity and receives no government funding. It relies on donations, memberships, sponsorships, car boot sales and markets etc to remain open. I am sure there are many animal lovers out there who will be interested in our work and will come and visit us or maybe become involved in one way or another with helping our fourlegged friends (and some three legged as well !).

  Hi, I am on the right, I have two boys, 7 & 1 years old. My partner -Mark and I work at a school for boys with emotional and behavioural difficulties. We have just spent over two years renovating our house and are now finally coming to the end of it, apart from those jobs you put up with not being done because its liveable! As a family we thoroughly enjoy taking our caravan away to wet and windy places, with my brother and his family . We also have family in sunny Lanzarote and Australia who we keep in regular contact with through this web site.

  Hello, I am a teacher of PE and science at a school for boys with emotional and behaviour difficulties. I play rugby and (occasionally, not often enough) golf. I coach Lukes football team - Grappenhall Junior U7s. I enjoy online computer gaming - particularly racing simulations and read a lot of science fiction. I live in Warrington with my partner, Sally, Luke and William the kids, 2 dogs, a rabbit and some goldfish. We all enjoy (except the fish) going away in our caravan during the school holidays.

  We've just embarked on our first building project which is to renovate a ruin on a plot of 3500m in the village of Haria in Lanzarote. The house and camel sheds have been derelict for 10 years; the first job is to clear the cacti so we can see where to start! Follow our progress with regular updates and photos......

He is a partner in UK Computer Services and NISCOWeb in Lanzarote - the only English owned and operated computer store and Internet Services Provider on the island. He now lives in South Shields with his partner, Julie (in pink on his right in the photo) and their daughter Mia Louise.
